Finance volunteers needed
What needs to get done
We are looking for an enthusiastic volunteer to assist our Finance team for around 20 - 25 days (dates and times flexible and according to the volunteer's availability).
The Finance team is responsible for all financial transaction processing, reporting and taxation compliance matters within the charity, providing a support service throughout to all Directorates.
The team specifically look after processing sponsorship gift aid claims and are in need of a volunteer to help administer this process.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain experience working in the finance and/or charity sector.
What will I be doing?
Duties:
• Compiling gift aid claims for donations made for sponsored events
• sorting the forms
• reviewing compliance with gift aid requirements (checklist, support and training provided )
• Inputting data onto a spreadsheet
• Crosschecking data against our donor database – The Raiser’s Edge
What skills and personal qualities do I need?
• experience of undertaking an administrative role within an office environment;
• basic excel skills, with ability to key in data
• ability to work in an organized, methodical manner
• appreciate the importance of accuracy
• attention to detail
• an interest in finance or data management would be an advantage
What skills and experiences will I gain from this role?
• Experience working with a large charity
• Experience using the Raiser’s Edge ( a system widely used in the charity sector)
• Experience in financial administration
• The opportunity to further develop your excel and office skills
• As a direct result of your work, the charity will receive income from HMRC. This money will be available to support many of our services helping men with prostate cancer.

In our head office in London Bridge
What time commitments are involved?
We expect the project to take about 20-25 days of work – but we are happy to arrange dates and times to suit your availability. Whether it would suit you to volunteer 2 days a week for a period of 3 months, 3 days a week for 2 months or which ever pace would suit you!
What training will be provided?
Yes, we will provide comprehensive training on the tasks you will be doing. We also hold a series of in house training events you can attend if relevant to your volunteering role with us.
Will expenses be covered?
Yes. We will reimburse your travel costs to and from the office as well as your lunch costs in line with our expenses policy
