'You Can' Ambassador
What needs to get done
We need you to help us spread the word and raise the profile of Cancer Research UK and “You Can” in your community by engaging with people, organisations, clubs, businesses, schools, church, community centres, local council, family, friends - the list is endless. What we do know is that you know the best places in your own community to help us spread the word.
We are looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to bring this campaign to the area where you live and encourage as many people as possible within your local community to get involved.
What will I be doing?
Working along side Area Volunteer Managers in our region to develop a plan, driving the campaign forward
Focussing on marketing and PR to increase awareness
Carrying out local media coverage, which may include designing and distributing posters and leaflets about our work throughout your community and posting information on any relevant local websites, or contacting the local media, distributing bespoke press releases and arranging for air time with a Cancer Research UK representative
Researching potential opportunities for Cancer Research UK to promote fundraising within your area
Giving talks about the charity to local schools, businesses, clubs and societies
What support will I be given?
You will be supported by a local member of Cancer Research UK staff who will meet with you at the start of your role and will keep in regular contact with you to ensure that you have all of the information and resources you need.
