What needs to get done
By taking on this role in a Cancer Research UK Group you will help to increase cancer awareness within your community and raise significant funds for Cancer Research UK's life-saving work to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer more effectively.
What might I be doing?
Dealing with correspondence to and from the group
Assisting with the group’s fundraising in the local area
Thanking supporters for their donations
Helping to recruit and attract new members for the group
Keeping the membership list of the committee up to date
Taking and distributing the minutes at group meetings
Preparing and circulating meeting agendas
Booking meeting rooms/ venues as appropriate
Keeping up to date with the latest news and activities from Cancer Research UK and helping to support and promote other Cancer Research UK events in the area
How much time do I need to commit?
As a volunteer you would be responsible for managing the hours that you wish to give to Cancer Research UK. However, this role requires that adequate time is given to ensure that correspondence and procedures are dealt with promptly and efficiently to support the committee and Cancer Research UK.
What support will I be given?
You will be given an induction and training on all aspects of this role
All appropriate materials, including branded stationery will be supplied by Cancer Research UK
A dedicated Area Volunteer Manager will be available to give you continuous support, advice and guidance
Other group members will be available for help, support and advice
