Virgin London Marathon: Team Target cheer squad
What needs to get done
The Virgin Money Marathon is one of the biggest events in the running calendar, and a day when our amazing runners and supporters come together to raise awareness, fund research and save lives.
We need volunteers from 10.30am at our cheer points, and 1pm for our post-race reception. Please let us know the shifts you’re able to commit to (choose all that apply):
• 10.30am – 2pm
• 11.30am – 3pm
• 1pm – 4pm
• 4pm – 7pm
How your contribution will help
11 women die every day from ovarian cancer, and ovarian cancer faces chronic underfunding compared with other cancers. Together we can make sure women in the UK have the best chances of survival; you can give our runners the extra boost they need to get them over the finishing line or help them celebrate at our post-race reception, and know that your time will help transform diagnosis, treatment and support for the more than 25,000 women in the UK who are living with ovarian cancer.
What you will get out of it
You’ll be at one of two official #TeamTarget cheer points along the London Marathon route – you’ll be with other volunteers, supporters and Target Ovarian Cancer staff, will get a t-shirt, cheering materials, and an invite to our post-race reception to meet our amazing team of runners and help celebrate their success. You’ll get all the information you need before the day and have a dedicated volunteer contact on the day.
