About me

Hello!

My name is William Thompson. I am an artist and graphic designer. I am definitely not your conventional graphic designer. I began my career as a graphic designer in the midst of earning a Master’s degree in Exercise and Health Science. I enjoy the health sciences but missed the creative world of the arts. So after graduating, I decided to change careers and have not looked back.

I take a bit of an old soul artist’s approach to graphic design. I sketch everything first. Having a pencil and paper in front of me is the easiest way to get my imagination working and my creative juices flowing. Add a little bit of self-teaching and the help of the Advanced Web Design and Fundamentals of Graphic Design certificates from Emory University, I am adept at translating my sketches into vector designs through Adobe Illustrator, or digital works of art using Adobe Photoshop.

I enjoy telling stories through designs, particularly through logos and hand-drawn tattoos. Nothing gets me out of bed faster than the opportunity to capture a person’s story or mission in a visual design. I believe the details make or break a design so I pay careful attention to them. I love looking for the design outside of the box, allowing my creativity and imagination to look beyond the obvious and create.
