SUMMARY:

A proactive and hardworking individual with a genuine enthusiasm for the Media & Communications field. I have directed my education and work experience towards realising this ambition. Previous employers have commented on a friendly, enthusiastic and hardworking approach that shines through in my work. With experience within TV and Film, both in Production and Post-Production, my main aim is to progress as a Media Professional to work within Factual entertainment and Current affairs as a Researcher or Production Assistant. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

ParliaMentors Intern, 3FF, London (June 2017- September 2017)-

3FF’s ParliaMentors programme is a UN award-winning leadership programme where teams of university students of different faiths and beliefs collaborate to create real social change while bring mentored by MPs. My main duties involve:

• Supported the delivery of the ParliaMentors programme

• Supported the team in efficient communication with participants on the

programme

• Help with promotion of the programme & researching new

stakeholders

• Supported the social action projects led by ParliaMentors participants,

particularly researching potential partners

• Assisted the development of the ParliaMentors alumni network

• Developed and built on research and analysis

• Used social media to enhance the programme’s profile

• Devised social media strategies for the ParliaMentor program, along with relevant events organised by the charity

• Project managed tasks for projects and events for 3FF that uphold the organisation's values

Research Intern, Mosaic Films, Museum of London Educational Film (June 2017-July 2017)- Role involved

• Negotiating access to locations and securing all permissions.

• Ensuring all films abide by the Production's editorial and legal guidelines.

• Researching and liaising for TV presenters, TV shots and stills.

• Brief script writing for the presenter. 

Development & Alumni Relations Student helper, University of Westminster, London (October 2016- ongoing): Job involves

• First point of contact to Alumni enquiries via telephone and emails.

Service Coordinator Single Point Access (SPA), Leicestershire Partnership Trust, NHS (April 2015- Aug 2016- ) -

• Coordinated and managed community patient care through referrals

• Confidently dealt with Medical professionals and healthcare staff through defined pathways to enable patients to see the right person, at the right time and in the right place.

• Provided a central point for all referrals/information/advice and signposting for community health services.

• Organized and coordinated a range of activities between different organizations to prevent acute admission and to facilitate discharge in line with agreed protocols.

Data input Administrator, Open Mind Service, Leicestershire Partnership Trust:, (June 2013-February 2015)- Duties included

• Maintaining, updating and retrieving clinical information from the service database in a busy environment,

• Inputting data onto the service patient databases, including worker contact information, case notes, editing information within agreed timescales.

• Ad-hoc admin duties such as dealing with queries, filing and scanning.

• Achievements included extensive experience working with Healthcare professionals across the trust.

Sliding breaks Operator/Studio Runner - Bloomberg News, London (June 2011- October 2011):

• Job involved Effective running of Ad breaks on time for live news.

• Studio assisting duties such as printing scripts, miking up the presenters, checking all the radio's and IFB's and studio set up.

Post-Production Assistant: Editworks Post Production, London (September 2010- May 2011):

• Job involved developing and maintaining high standards of technical operation and customer service, in line with business requirements.

• First point of contact for clients and editors with any issues.

• Helping the tech team with basic Technical duties such as Blacking tapes, importing and exporting media for the offline edit.

• Achievements included hands on training on editing software Avid Media Composer and working with different Editors.

Production Assistant/Runner, MTV Asia, London: (Feb 2010- June 2010):

• Admin duties such as managing excel databases for contributor applications and release forms.

• Assisting the production team with transport and accommodation bookings.

• Chaperoning candidates between filming locations and ensuring the confidentiality of task information.

• Helping Producers with location hunting and casting.

• Managing and creating call sheets, consent forms and other production logistics.

Assistant Trainee Transcoder, Storm Glass Productions (London): Bollywood feature film “Life Goes On”, (May 2009- June 2009):

• Transcoding the footage and checking for red rushes, syncing the sound rushes with all the footage and other general duties on set as directed by the crew. Achievements included extensive training within the Edit department from an International film crew

VOLUNTARY EXPERIENCE:

Video Production Member/Editor, Daily Run Africa, NGO, London (December 2016- March 2017)

• Daily Run Africa is an NGO based in London. It is a health research initiative with the goal of promoting wellness through disease prevention, and a focus on the role of civic engagement in public health & policy curation. My role was to film, edit and assist in the production of short videos highlighting the nutritional and cultural significance of fruits/vegetables that are commonly eaten by members of the sub-Saharan community.

Intern, ITN Productions, London (June 2009- July 2009):

• Completed a two weeks’ placement with ITN Productions (ITV and CH 4 News). Placement included thorough training in camera for studio based projects and on location, Vision mixing, basic editing skills on Avid, directing, sound and lights.

Intern, ITV, This Morning Show, London, (Sept 2008- 3rd Oct 2008:):-

• Successfully completed a two weeks’ placement with the show as a Studio and Office Runner. Job involved basic office runner duties such as Post, emails, inputting data, research and helping the show’s day team, news team, entertainment and celebrity team. Within the studio I helped with basic camera work.

EDUCATION:

MA Media and Development, University of Westminster, London (2016-2017)- Currently pursuing post-graduate studies. The course focuses on main theories, concepts, case studies and practical media skills around the theme of media and development and its implications for less developed countries, focusing also on development and communication policies and strategies.

BA (HONS) Broadcast Television production, University of Westminster, London, (2007- 2010): The course focused on how television programs are conceived, produced, commissioned and distributed in a digital broadcast and multi-platform environment.

Access to Humanities and Social sciences, Leicester college, (2006-2007): Successfully completed higher education Diploma in Humanities. Subjects included Sociology, Mass Media and research, and Psychology.
