About me
I've taught in schools and other settings for over 15 years as well as honing my skills in graphic design on the side. For the last three years I've run my own design studio - The Art Bank - working on physical artwork and digital graphic design. One of my main roles in this area was as the managing editor of OPENHOPE magazine - a high quality, 36 page, free-but-glossy magazine with 4,000-6,000 copies distributed three times a year.
This experience has left me confident to oversee and implement the entire design process from planning and layout, photography, editing and proofing, right through to communicating with large printing houses and managing distribution. It's convinced me that Graphic Design is not only a clear strength, but an passion which is fulfilling.
The bread and butter of my studio work involves branding, logo design, colour scheme setting, assisting with web and print based campaigns and creating posters and flyers.
Having set up our own charity four years ago, supporting parents who educate at home, I really value volunteering as a use of time so I'm excited at the prospect of building my own portfolio for great causes.
